Hi Folks, I’ve got a home-based online e-commerce shop targeted at mothers and children that for various conflicting priorities I now need to sell. I have had a look at businessforsale.com.au and Flippa and think they are probably two the better ones, but I would be really interested to hear from anyone else if they have any experience or recommendations they can share with me. Thanks in advance.

Hi And Welcome to the Forums ReZa. It is great to have you!

The two you mentioned are amongst the most widely used and there are free alternatives like Gumtree or other paid alternatives such as Seek or using a Business Broker.

Congrats on having a successful business and good luck with the sale.

Thanks for your warm welcome and response Paul! I hadn’t considered Gumtree, that’s an interesting avenue. I will look into that as another option in addition to the paid alternatives.

Out of interest ReZa, did you manage to sell your online business and if so, which of the platforms did you use and sell with?
I’m looking into selling my online business also so interested to hear what worked/didn’t work for you!

No we do not. Other channels such as Gumtree and Seek specialise in that.

I would use flippa if you have 12months of revenue proof etc otherwise Gumtree and businessforsale.com.au. I have found on flippa sometimes the buyers are not aware they Need an ABN to own a .au domain you may get the sale but can’t complete because the buyer has no ABN which is quite annoying.

SEEK is really good for that and you can find more genuine buyers.
