JayneJuly 21, 2009 at 6:57 am #1010795August 13, 2009 at 11:40 am #1010796Up::0… It’s that time of year again. Happy to say that the ATO has geared up their systems and refunds are being churned out quite quickly!
Despite common impression, this is now a slow time for accountants. Or at least slowish whilst clients gather information and take advantage of tax agent extensions.
That said, if anyone needs help with a tax related matter or needs to demystify some of that ATO code language into plain English – we would love to help!
(Based in Sydney and are very internet and phone friendly)

Up::0I don’t know if this company has already been posted, but I’ve been very impressed with Figures Please! , Melbourne (city and Hawthorn).

A good bookkeeper will save you time and money, and a good accountant will minimise your tax bill.
My advice is to get yourself onto these services and grow your business without the stress of looking after your financials.

Well said Burgo. However to run (and grow) a good business you need more than good book-keeping and tax advice. IMHO they are essential starting points to become successful!
Many businesses (soloists in particular) base their whole operation around reducing their tax bill. That may be appropriate for some people, and is certainly relevant to everyone, but to grow your business you need your accountant to be more business (not tax) focussed – the more money you make the more tax you pay!
