business card ….. designer ?

Ok.. so I’ve got a whole bunch of Vistaprint business cards. which is all well and good.
Earlier this year though, I won 1000 business cards from a local printing business, which I’d like to take up.

However, here’s where the problem comes in. Vistaprint don’t give proofs (at least, not real ones that are useful)

So I need someone who can take a scanned copy of my card, and generate suitable output to send to the printer (I assume PSD?)
Obviously, I’d want to be able to make other cards in future, so I should be able to adjust things like name, title, phone number, etc…. (In this particular instance, we want to do 500 for me, and 500 for my wife..)

Is there anyone who can do this, or knows someone who can?

A scanned output of the card isn’t ideal, the quality and colour reproduction just won’t be accurate. You’d be better off supplying the original graphics files…

Also the easiest format to use, especially for something like vistaprint is probably PDF, not PSD.

Yes, please don’t output a business card from photoshop. It should be in vector format, so either originated in Illustrator or InDesign and output as a PDF.

If you are going to pay someone do do this, it might be worth thinking about designing a new business card.

The price would be similar.

If you are not planning on changing your email, web address or phone number for some time then you could get brand new business cards designed to use once you run out of the Vista Print ones. Then you will have the file print-ready from your designer for any future use
