    Hi guys!

I thought I’d start this thread to list out the things that my partners and I are doing during the set-up stage of our business from things such as topics discussed at meetings through to building our website and discussing the demographics (customer market) that we are marketing to. Now it won’t have little detail (can’t give away trade secrets and stuff like that) but the main reason for this topic is so that if we seem to have missed something, then hopefully someone here can pick it up and mention it.

Basically, its any advice you guys can give us.

    So far, we’ve covered:

    • Banking
    • Products & Services
    • ABN/ACN/TFN applications
    • Demographics
    • Contracts
    • Applicable Law
    • Marketing
    • Advertising & Promotion
    • Website Design
    • Costings & Sales
    • Equipment
    • Accounting Services

If there is anything you think we’ve missed, your input would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Establishing a business

    Hi Frank

It looks like you covered all the areas of business management in that list, but I wonder how much depth and what areas of that list have you planned for.

    I can see you might need to look at;

    1. Safety systems
    2. Employee Inductions/Hiring
    3. Position descriptions for managers
    4. Competitor Research
    5. SWOT analyis

What about your Business Brand and unique selling proposition?

    Business Plan outlines

    Hi Aareen

Good start with the business outline information.

    A business plan requires;

    • An executive summary
    • Market Research Results
    • Product Services Descriptions
    • Pricing Strategy
    • Promotional Plan
    • Operations Plan & Procedures
    • OHS Management
    • SWOT Analysis
    • Sales management
    • Human Resource Management
    • Financial Tables
    • Profit & Loss Projections
    • Qualifications

Business plans do more than just apply for loans, they also provide information and guidance during the business ups and downs.

    Hi Frank and Paul,

Just a quick note to say Aareen was a spammer and is now gone. Hope that doesn’t confuse your conversation at all.

    cheers,
    Jayne

    Thought it was odd information

    Thanks FS

I did notice his help seemed a bit off track.

Good to see that someone is watching out for spammers.

FS: Thanks for that. I was getting that impression after his first post, but I thought that he may have just misunderstood my information.

King: Photography & Digital Design (which should not be confused with Graphic Design)

Thanks for the input everyone. Once we have our next business meeting (which should, all things go according to plan, be within the next 7 days, I’ll update you.
