    Hi there,

I am looking at buying a couple of items from the US, small printers, but they are not available here in Oz. Can anyone advise what the major issues would be with running a US electrical item here in Oz. I know I have DVD players, hairdryers (at least my wife does) that have come from the UK and run with no issues, but was concerned about something a little bigger.

    Anyone running OS equipment?

    Thanks

The us uses 120v and not 240v so you will have to check if the device will work at 240v or you will need to buy a transformer.

    Plugs are different as well.

We brought our desktop computer/printer/scanner gear with us when we returned to Australia from the USA. We had to get a massive transformer – it’s about half the size of a smallish printer – hate to think of the energy it guzzles.
