I’m seeing websites like http://indeed.com, http://adzuna.com.au etc that display lists of advertisements. The actual advertisements are from other sites e.g. Gumtree and others. When you click listing on indeed.com it redirects you to actual site where the actual advertisement is displayed.

Now, is this legal? Can anyone pull out any content from any other website and as long as they only display part of it and link to full version on original site is this ok? Does it depends on website? I noticed that this happen only with jobs listings but see no cars, homeware and other items. Can they pull any content, images etc?

I’m worried as if this is legal then anyone can do it to my sites as well right?

On sites like Gumtree & Indeed, it’s most likely something that’s a part of the terms and conditions when you sign up. So yes, it all depends on the website and I wouldn’t worry about it too much. If this happens to your business and you’ve listed yourself on those two sites, good, free advertisement.
