    Hi Coffs Harbour Soloists
I’m looking to start a Coffs Harbour meet up. At this stage just curious to see if there are many Coffs Harbourites out there.
If you are interested in getting together for a meet up, please reply and we can look to creating a regular meet up.
If you have already created regular meet ups, please let me know.
    Cheers
    Kelli

    Hi Kelli,

Thanks for joining Flying Solo and for kicking this off.

We’ll see if we can rustle up some folk who are interested in joining you.

In the meantime, welcome aboard :)

    Hi Cath & Kelli

I’m still looking to be part of a group in Coffs.
What is the next step to get it started?

    Hi Dane,

We usually find throwing a date, time and meeting place out there helps to get the ball rolling. If people can’t make it, you can re-jig the times etc to suit.

    Cheers

    Hi,

I am also in Coffs Harbour and a soloist and would be really interested in a ‘meet-up’.

Sounds like there are a few people interested…

What days/times work best? (I can do most week days, during the day ideally).

Perhaps a good idea just to meet in a cafe if there are a few of us and take it from there….

    Cheers, Tom

Hi, another soloist here from Coffs Harbour.

I too would appreciate the chance of meeting up with people facing the same challenges of flying solo.

Lets try and get a date locked in then, as it looks there are is a bit of interest (welcome to the forum Andrew – look forward to meeting you)…

How does a day in w/c 15th of April sound?

Date: Tues 16th, Wed 17th or Thurs 18th would all work for me currently.

Times: I am flexible – anytime from 8am to 5pm works for me

    Location: Cafe in Coffs somewhere…Cocoa?

    Cheers, Tom

    Hi Tom,

Sorry for the delay in replying – bit of a mix-up with log-in details. All sorted again now.

I appreciate you plunging in and naming dates and times – which seems somewhat fundamental to this sort of exercise.

I’m also very flexible, but just to push things along a bit, can I suggest:
Wed. 17th April at the venue you mentioned i.e.Cocoa, at 10:30am.

This has really been taken off the top of my head and I don’t mean to preempt Kelli, Dane, or Cath – but unless something more definite is mentioned, I’m not sure it will ever happen.

Please offer alternative suggestions to narrow it down a bit if this isn’t appropriate.

However, I think a mutually supportive group would make working on our own a whole lot easier. Most people have colleagues to share working woes with – we don’t. But I wish I did.

    Looking forward to any feedback,
    Andrew

Sounds good to me, lets see what the others think and lock in a date and time that works for everyone.

    Hi folks,

    Well, this is embarrassing.

Some thing has come up that I cannot avoid on Wed. It’s a legal obligation so I have no choice about it.

Still, it seems to have set the ball rolling so I hope it works out well and maybe I’ll be able to join you on subsequent meets.

    Regards (and apologies)

No worries Andrew, can you make any other days this week?

Does Thursday morning or afternoon work for you Dane/Andrew?

(if not I can do early next week)./

    Cheers

    Tom

    Hi Tom,

It seems that you, I and Dane are quite keen. Perhaps others will join us after we have got going.

I was really annoyed that I had to back out of the Wed. meet but I am quite happy to do so at the same time and same location sometime after the court case has ended.

    Dramatic pause;

Actually, I’ve been called up for jury duty but unfortunately, I don’t know quite how long this might take. The last time was a fizzle – the defendant pleaded guilty and we were all sent home. Maybe that will happen again. But maybe not.

A business colleague who has tried to arrange a meeting of ‘soloists’ once told me that it was like ‘herding cats’ – a wonderful and mind-boggling image that I’m sure you can relate to. It’s quite difficult when we all have such diverse obligations!

    Nevertheless, worth pursuing.

(well, not with the cats of course – can’t see any point in that at all and I’m sure they would agree with me!)

I’ll keep checking here to see if the Wed. meet took place or another alternative has emerged.

In the meantime, thanks for your contact. Mine is 0413 966 789 and I would be happy to hear from you.

    Regards,Andrew
