    Hi,

    I’m trying to start a business specialised in smoked pulled pork, the issue is finding a facility that can accommodate my operations. What I’m seeking is a secure outdoor area to smoke my meat and a kitchen to prep, process and store, ready to be deliver to the markets.

    I’ve contacted several commercial kitchens around Sydney, but they lack outdoor space to smoke my meats.

    I was thinking to rent a house with a yard and run my business, claiming the rental as business expense. Not sure whether NSW Food Authority will approve such operation because its in a residential area.

    With small amount of funds, I can’t afford to rent a warehouse and install necessary equipments.

    Can anyone provide me directions or what other alternatives are available.

    I appreciate any comments or suggestions .

    Firstly – yum!

    I would get in touch with My Other Kitchen (members here and online at http://myotherkitchen.com.au/) Their whole business is based on helping persons in the food biz get the kitchens/spaces they need etc and have a lot of great information about working in the industry.
