Does anyone know? If you sell any product on a US based website (ie books, clothes, on Zazzle, Blurb or whereever) I am told that you have to submit a form through their website so that the IRS (American) takes out 10%. Does anyone know if that then makes non US citizens sellers also liable to tax returns for the US as well as Australia? It’s hard to find any relevant information.

You will be best served by the publications put out by the IRS.
Put the term “non-resident alien” into the search bar and that will help.

I lived in the USA for over 20 years but it’s very complicated and I wouldn’t like to state an opinion on a public forum since I’m not a tax lawyer or accountant.

I did find the following discussion and the most relevent answer was the last one by someone with hockey in his name. But do check the facts directly with the IRS.

If you ring the IRS, as we had to last week, there is a about a 30 min to 2 hour wait but they are very helpful.
