I wanted to pay some of my contractors before the end of the financial year and also to send myself a payment.

However… I made the payments after 10pm in WA (June 30) but because of the time difference with the eastern states, 1 July 2013 appeared as the transaction time instead.

In WA can I legally say that the payments were made on June 30?

    Curious about this one.

    Hi Stuster,

I’m also guilty of leaving things to the last minute 😮

Hopefully one of our accountants or book-keepers will be able to help you with your question.

Good luck and welcome to the forum.

    Mary.

    Hi Stuster

Do you have a printout of the transaction from your internet banking showing the actual payment?

If you have this, and it shows the 30/6/13 then I would say, yes, you could process it on the 30th June.

    HTH
