I would like to develop IT project after hours and do not have enough time at home. Could you advise if there are any good public (or maybe not) places in Melbourne (better South-East) for that which is available after hours for couple of hours? Also I am interested how can I find a person who could join to my project and I could trust him/her?

    Hi – I saw this page http://www.hotdesk.com.au/blog/creative-coworking-office-space-melbourne/

I am not in Melbourne and have no idea about any of these, but perhaps you might like to work through the list and see if any of them would work for you as a space.

    Best wishes.

    Hi there,

    Welcome to the forums!

Yes coworking spaces could work for you as Karen has suggested. Good luck with it and we hope you stick around the forums. :)

my intent is not to be rude here. I wonder if it’s just a bit of a language barrier.

You state that you do not have enough time to work on your project at home after hours and you want somewhere else to work on your project after hours.

Is the issue more that you get disturbed while working at home, or you lack the motivation ?

(I’m in exactly the same situation – i know I could be using my evenings far better, but by the end of the day, I just can’t)

Busy with children in the evenings and after that it’s often hard to work and not enough time. There is not enough motivation as well. Can it be better to create startup sponsored by somebody? Or how do usually people do it (I have no idea about it)?

It sound difficult in your situation. If you want to find a business partner they may expect more commitment than just a couple hours a day at night, especially when your product is ready they will expect more commitment during the day to promote it.

If your finances permit, you may wish to pay a developer to create the project for you, and a marketing person to sell it.

It may be good to go to some networking events and socialise your idea, might get you some people who are interested to work with you. I think FS has a networking forum.

    Cheers,
    Steven

    Hello,

Not sure if you are still looking fro space.
But if you have a laptop, I find anywhere that’s not an office space is good to work.

Of course you will need wifi or 3G/4G.

I’ve done some pretty good work at bars :)

Old post, awesome advice though :) i have been known to occasionally frequent wifi hubs, office receptions (foyers), bars, coffee shops, and sometimes my office :)

    Cheers

    Hi,

It might be an idea to talk to some of the local serviced office providers. Many of these will have work stations that they rent out and/or make available to virtual office customers.

    Hi there,

There are a wide range of Melbourne flexible office spaces at https://officespace.com.au/melbourne.htm. A lot of these spaces provide 24 hour access and come in a wide range of price points (serviced & coworking).

This thread is from 2014, hopefully they are not still looking now.
