I agree with most of the technical stuff said like adding a shipping page, product reviews, physical address for the business, blog, etc
The think I am confused about is who is your target market? Are you using your site as a catalog for customers from your salon or are you trying to attract people online? The colors and photos suggest to me a more mature audience but there isn’t the sort of information that 40 plus women are looking for (we like to read). Aside from being grouped into collections (why aren’t there descriptions of the blends and what they are for on the collections page? Why did you use these specific ingredients?) they should also be grouped into skin types and special areas like older skin, pregnancy, etc.I think your copy needs serious work. The information you give on each product is inconsistent and a little all over the place. I would suggest making yourself a template that you use to cover key points. Standardize your descriptions.
Also your ingredients (ingredients: purified aqua, Decyl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerine, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol ) aren’t really sexy enough to be a headliner in the description. I would just focus on the nurturing natural stuff.
I’m also not crazy about “As part of my studies we were required to study Aromatherapy so I thought I would put those to good use and create a natural line of products.” Sounds like a hobbyish afterthought. Something about you but bring it back to the product like “I’ve always had a passion for aromatheraphy, attending a course at College of Natural Therapies at Holgate on the Central Coast gave me the scientific knowledge to create blends for my clients that blah, blah.. This particular blend synergizes to relax you, take out the garbage, balah, blah, blah”Do you believe in the product lines you have created? You need to show me why and make me believe it. You’re in a very competitive market and your going to need to really stand out to separate people from their cash.
Good luck, I wish you the best! Ann

February 27, 2018 at 12:53 am #1213430Up::0I 2nd the idea of the email being from your domain rather than a gmail. Seeing as you have the site hosted, it is pretty much a guarantee that you can set up the email from averrilsnaturalskincare.com.au no problem. Having the gmail email screams non-legit business or at least amateur.
Also I too am wondering if it should be Averril’s ……. rather than Avrerils…
And the “afterpay” image in the lower half of the home page needs to be resized. It doesn’t fit properly in the screen and is pixelated due to being blown up too much.
Cheers
TimFebruary 27, 2018 at 11:16 pm #1213431Up::0Hi Tim,
Thanks your your feedback. Unfortunately, shopify don’t offer email addresses with their stores its standard with some stores. I am with crazy domains (third party) and they make it very difficult to use those connections and their are charges. The email I am using now does have the business name in it. I am aware of Averils not being correct but am not sure if a global correction all over the site is possible but it would be massive. Will look into that. Will work on the afterpay thing. Thank you

April 9, 2018 at 5:32 am #1213433Up::0Hi Averil,
From a technical point of view I’d have a look at the URL structure. For instance, I clicked on a product on the home page and saw this URL:
This looks like you are using a default URL setting and it needs to be refined. I don’t see why you should have “collections” and “frontpage” in the URL and I would also remove “averils-natural-skin-care-products” which I imagine is being added automatically. A clean URL structure is an important consideration in ranking on search engines.
https://averilsnaturalskincare.com.au/products/patchouli-lavender-and-cedarwood-body-cream
… is much cleaner
Good luck. It’s a competitive segment online
