    Hi There,
Thought I’d try my luck to see if any of you out there know of somewhere I could buy quality kraft paper at over 300gsm (weight/thickness of paper)
    Very hard to find!

Any leads would be much appreciated.

    How much do you need?
Did you try the big paper suppliers like Spicers, Doggett etc?

Thanks very much, had a look at both websites and think I will give doggett a visit. Its hard to tell what papers they have as you cannot see a picture, but think its worth a visit.
At the moment I don’t need a lot, I am in the process of starting up my invitation and event styling bus, so just need to make up some samples.

    Hi again

Maybe you’re lucky and they give you some samples. Unfortunately they aren’t as generous with sample books as they were years ago.
Otherwise ask for their stockists and buy some paper from there first.

Depending on your orders later I would then also think of importing paper directly from Asia or Europe. I did some work for a stationery business (paperworks) years ago and they went overseas to source special paper.

If you’re in Melbourne, Doggetts has a little retail outlet attached to their factory where you can see all over their stocks and either buy them by the sheet, or you can buy a little box for about $50 and have as much as will fit in it. It works out much cheaper than buying it anywhere else. The staff are very helpful too.

    Thanks guys!
Jacqui, would there be any chance you’d remember any of the asian suppliers website name/addresses?
That would be a huge help, but I understand if you don’t want to give any trade secrets!

    Hi Di

You probably meant me :) No, I can’t recall that, I wasn’t involved in that, I only did her catalogue :)

But I remember that she went to tradeshows and expos in Asia and France.

    Best,
    Astrid

    Hi,
I am going to China next month if you want to send me more info I can keep an eye out for you. The only problem I think you will find would be the quantities you have to buy.
    Cheers
    Megan

thanks Megan for that offer, but you are right ,I think quantities would be an issue as I am only after smaller amounts to begin with.

And yes I have been to Eckersleys- I get my watercolour paper from there!

    Thanks
