Has something changed, or is it just me, but has the forum changed its font face or font size recently because I feel it’s too small. I’m having to strain to read the text.

I must admit I’m finding it smaller too. I already wear glasses and don’t want to have to enlarge the browser to view the forum. It seems it’s about a font size or two smaller than it was before.

    Hi all,

As part of our redecorating we changed the font we used to Arial to be consistent with the rest of the site. We didn’t change the point size of the font, although Arial is a more compact font than the previous one so you’re right it does render as smaller.

What we’ve just done is increase the point size for the main reading and posting areas so it’s noticeably larger :) Specsavers won’t be happy with us!

Hope that helps and thanks for the feedback as always.

    Cheers,
    Peter

Terrible isn’t it when those of us wearing glasses need to be catered for. :p Thanks for that, it is better now.

Very much appreciated. Makes one website I don’t have to enlarge.

I think it’s perfectly fine, and if the font size is really bugging you, you can always press Ctrl and scroll up, it automatically zooms up the webpage.

I’ve done ctrl + scroll and while it works really nicely on Flying Solo there are other websites which aren’t so smooth and the icons end up on top of the writing.

Arial used to look ok on old screens using smaller resolutions but there’s something about it that’s a bit “not right”.

I think it’s something to do with the t and the f being so very thin.

    Of course, it’s entirely subjective

I think the line-height is a little low – the text seems squashed.

Increasing the line-height would help with the readability.

    Cheers!
