    Hi guys,
I am a small importer based in sydney without actual australian regustered business selling on ebay. I have been using dhl to receive my goods from china about 60 kg per month. Now i need to order double that weight every month.
Is there cheaper option than dhl?
I heard about freight forwarder company that does same?
Can u experienced ppl advise me.
Do they deliver to my addresd or i need to clear it off airport.
I am after who deliver to my house in 2-3 days like dhl does.
    Thanks
    Jack

    Hi Jack,

Welcome to the forums! I can’t help you but hopefully you’ll get some recommendations.

All the best, and I hope to see you around. :)

    Hi Jack,

Who is currently arranging the freight for you? It’s usually cheaper if you arrange through the supplier as they will have good rates with the shipper.

I use a freight forwarder called “My China Freight” and usually get stuff in using FedEx.

Also, what is the cubic weight of your imports?

    Hi Maclean,
    Thanks for response.
The goods i get comes in ctn of size 510 x 320 X 320 Mm.
    Weight is 15 kg.
I am looking to ship them here like 5 ctn.
Right now my supplier arrange it using dhl deliver to my home,no custom clearance etc.
How does my china freight work,
Do i get my supplier to give goods to them in china and they send it to me through fedex, can we combine from diffrent supplier too.
How long it takes to reach my address? And how is cost?

Ok so that’s a pretty standard size carton.

From memory it took about 3-4 days to get to me. It was US$242 for 5 cartons with dimensions 34*39*31cms, with gross weight 33kgs, so the chargeable weight was 42kgs cubic. This was ShenZhen to Canberra.

They handle everything for you, just give them your suppliers contact details and they’ll arrange to have the stock transferred to their warehouse and delivered to your door. They can handle sea or air freight as well.

Don’t take the first price they give you though, always ask for something better.

Hi Jack, contact them through here – http://www.mychinafreight.com/contact-us.html

Custom charges etc usually only apply for orders over AU$1000. I don’t recommend under-declaring etc to get around this. You can claim the taxes back as deductions come tax time.

If you’re not properly registered as a business you should do so and then start claiming back parts of your rent, Internet, phone, everything you use for selling the products. Oh and go buy yourself a nice new laptop, 27″ monitor and printer and claim the 60% depreciation upfront!
