We currently lease the restaurant part of a pub and have built up the business over the past 12 months. We’re now the top ranked pub for food in our region according to urbanspoon.
We have just found out that the pub has been sold.
My question is – do we own our own “goodwill”?
ie. can we sell our part of the “business”?
We’ve been consistently told by our clientele that the pub would go out of business if we weren’t there.

hi we have just signed on for another year – but there is a clause that allows any party to break the contract with 2 months advance notice…

    Can you, technically yes.

Would it be likely, not with the short tenure you have.
