    Hi All,
This morning Google released an SEO cheat sheet on their webmaster tools blog. It’s a very basic one pager, hopefully more to come!

It talks about giving images relevant names ie joes-resturant.jpg which is often missed (take note folks!).

The recommendation to include captions with images is something I haven’t heard Google mention before,

Good to see meta-tags and images covered. These are two really simple things which so many people seem to overlook.

Shame they don’t cover more. Here’s hoping it will come later.

Funny how there’s a strict policy in Adwords against superlatives but they’re happy for you to use it in your organic title and snippets.

3 bullet points for web pages and another 3 for images…

That culled from a 31 page “SEO Starter Guide“?

    Google,
IMHO, if the audience is this uninformed it will need separate cheat sheets that include…

    • Definitions – what is the “alt” attrbute?
    • How to create tables to hold captions below images?

I know the blog is aimed at “beginners” but they are going to be long dead and buried at this tuition rate.

PS Did anyone check out the blog “Comments”? No wonder the cheat sheet is so basic.

“jim said… Cheat sheet link appears to be missing

Alex Koontz said… Come on now, this is elementary stuff here. The link to the entire point of the post is broken. Unreal

Antonio Ooi said… “Oops! Google Chrome could not find x” <--- So fellow beginners, your first step is to put an 'x' on your links. Please take note. Shane said… Cheat sheet step #1: Make sure your links all work.”

    (LOL)
