Hi there fellow FS forum members,

I was just wondering, Have any of you applied for Government grants for your Business venture ?

If so, for what aspect of your Business did you apply ?

what was involved in the process ?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi No Broker

While I can’t answer your question specifically, one of my Flying Solo colleagues posted the below message on Facebook a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if the below site will be helpful?

This week saw the launch of Business Grant Guru, a free information service outlining every grant available to businesses in Australia. We’ve had a look through and it’s certainly comprehensive and well worth a visit. See for yourself: http://www.grantguru.com.au Happy grant hunting!

    Have a great day!
    Lucinda :)

Hi Joe. I am fortunate to be a NEIS (New Enterprise Incentive Scheme)
Graduate. NEIS is a government program that pays you to study a Cert IV in
Small Business Management over 3 months. During that time you compile a
business plan, and if it’s approved upon completion of your course, the
government gives you $1000 every month for an entire year to support the
    launch of your business.

The NEIS program is offered across a range of institutions but I highly
recommend RMIT. RMIT hosts info sessions every Friday in the city:
