    Hi all,

My wife and I are planing to move to Sydney permanent. We are living in Denmark and we are Danish citizen.

I am trying to start up a business, but me wife would like to find a graphic designer or AD position.

    Therefore:

    • Do you know some, who have a advertising agency in Sydney
    • recruiter, who is recruiting inside the advertising area?
    • does some in this trade hiring overseas and sponsor a visa?

I hope you can help me and my wife to fulfill our dreams to move down under – we have been there 3 times and we love the country and the people.
    /Brian

Hi, re your request for your wife in graphic design … I am a self employed designer and have observed that there are not many positions advertised at this time of year, but halfway through January onwards when big businesses return to work, would be a good time to look. It really depends on where you choose to live.

You would have to have a work visa or if you want sponsorship, look up larger companies in case they might sponsor. I don’t know anyone who does it myself.

    Hi Karen,

Thanks for your answer – hopefully I will get a job in Sydney – I am working with IT and Microsoft Dynamics, and therefore I do have a skilled profesion.

I think she would like some freelance job, if I am getting a job down under…

    Merry Christmas to you…
    Kind regards

    Hi Brian

the big recruitment agency here in Sydney for creatives is tenth house

    http://www.tenthhouse.com.au/

    Or Aquent

    http://www.aquent.com.au/

She will find quite a lot of agencies, also multinationals in Sydney, I am not sure if they all advertise free positions. Better go with recruiters, they feed mycareer, seek, etc anyway.

To find a sponsor in the design industry might not be easy – there are too many designers here. Might be easier for you if you specialise in certain areas. But I’m not that familiar with IT and what’s been asked for at the moment.

    Cheers
    Astrid
