We run an entertainment business and we are very used to many people we work with living in fairy land where taxes, governments, sometimes even bank accounts are not necessary.
There is a situation with one of our suppliers where we collected money by selling tickets for their special event. Everything went well and that is all great.
They have sent me a tax invoice now for the amount agreed from the ticket sales, but they are not registered for GST (they have an ABN though) which makes things difficult.
We have paid the GST on the ticket prices for our share and expect them to do the same.
We were thinking, is there a way to offset this part of the income so they are responsible fro payment or non-payment of any GST collected? Maybe we could split the amount to taxable and non-taxable shares?
    Advice is appreciated.

    Hello Jamesie
Your description is confusing. Did you sell tickets for the supplier or did you buy tickets for them?
