If you have tried Twitter ads, what did you like or dislike about it? What goals did you set and did you achieve them?

    Hi Justin,
I’ll be very interested in the replies to your post also.

I don’t have any advertising experience to offer other than my readings of surveys that report how few active Twitter users there are.

I read on the Twitter website that it has around 300 million active users. That is not much more than 10% of the worldwide Internet user base.

That suggests to me that Twitter advertisers need to be very careful about who they are targeting, what their objectives are, what they want them to do and their results monitoring.
    Regs,
    JohnW

I threw a test ad up for my fledgling app a week or two ago for fun and games. I got some click throughs, seemed to hit the right target.
I found it to be more expensive than Facebook ads, but the ability to target your competitors followers is particularly compelling.
I’ll be investing some more time and effort in twitter next month. I’ll post my results.

Yeah it isn’t as cheap as most people thought it would be. I think it is useful as an email subscriber list lead capture. I don’t think paying to build Twitter followers is a good idea since Twitter followers are fickle.

    Hello,

I’ve been running them for a week now.
Seems a good way to get followers so far but not so good for call to action website traffic.

Think about your audience. Is your audience using Twitter? If it’s a younger demographic, they can reached on Twitter more easily.

Interested to know how your results went with Twitter Ads?

We have used Facebook Ads as one of our marketing tools, yet to try Twitter Ads. Anyone else tried Social Media marketing which delivered promising results?
