Hello. I’m working for a roofing company specialising in car ports, patios and enclosures. We have a very effective sales plan that empowers clients to make decisions purchase on the day that eliminates the competition quotes and the 3-quote routine that many people insist on.

We quote prices which are literally double of what the competition quote and our materials are the same. The reason clients choose us is because we design the structures at the clients house with them present, show them samples and build massive rapport.

The opportunity I’m perusing is to beat their pricing being that they have massive overheads and still provide the same sales plan and customer service. But charge more than the average tradesperson.

Cheers and looking forward to getting this thread up and running!

    Hi & welcome Roofmaster,

It’s great that you’ve already identified a clear opportunity in the market and have defined your positioning.

All the best and good luck!

    Hey roofmaster,

Sounds like a brilliant sales process you have, which will be a real asset to your business. But I’m a little puzzled…

Your current employer has proven that your prices can be elevated 2x because of the confidence you give the client during your quoting process (regardless of what the materials and labour cost). :)

You are looking to start your own business based on this key learning (people buy confidence, not the materials).:)

And yet, because your costs are lower, your new strategy is based on beating them on price! 😮 I thought the strength of the strategy was to eliminate the competition so you don’t have to compete on price.

Hi Roofmaster, I don’t see the problem? You say your current employer is double the price but still achieves a good conversion rate and you want to adopt this process but offer a cheaper offer. Where’s the problem?

I agree why compete on price.
