Established but in need of learning to work smarter not harder.

I specialise in children and family portraiture http://www.amandasphotography.com.au

    and my BLOG http://www.amandasphotography.com.au/BLOG?:-)

I’m a typical creative, non business like kinda gal…that last bit has to change though.

    Nice photo’s.

But just a bit of advice with your web site.
    – I would drop the landing page on the home directory. Very few are on dialup these days.
    – Pop up windows are a bad idea for those with javascript turned off and/or have them blocked.
    – The menu rollovers you have on Pricing and Links can’t be read when there’s a dark photo behind.
    – The text in ABOUT needs to be larger.

    Welcome Amanda,

Your web site looks like a great design – suits your business.

Great idea to work smarter not harder – it took me a while :-)

    Hi Amanda,

I think your goal of working smarter not harder is something that a lot of us are looking to do – certainly it’s high up on my list!

    Welcome.

    Hi Amanda,

    Welcome to flyingsolo forum.

You took photos of my daughter at reservior gymbaroo last year. The photos are great and we have a couple of them on our fridge. Everyone who has come to our place & seen them on the fridge have commented not only on our daughter but how good the photos are (quality, etc).

Amanda is also a lovely person and very patient!

    Alison :)

Gotta say I agree with Dan there. Great photo’s but the site let’s them down a little. With a little advice, like Dan’s, it doesn’t cost much to create something to really look ‘the business’.

Don’t have different ‘versions’ of a site. Just have 1 great website. If people don’t have the budget for broadband, they’re probably not in the market to purchase photography either.

If I can help, let me know.

    Again, really great photo’s.

    All the best,
    Brad.

    Hey Amanda,
welcome to the forums! I see you’ve fallen into the newbie trap (where your website is scrutinised upon joining).

One thing i had always wondered from photographers such as yourself. Working in your field, do you lose the passion for photography as an art and cease to take photos for yourself, or does it not effect anything?

    Cheers,
    Mike
