Hi all, I need your help – we’re doing some qualitative research on how business owners & professionals perceive Rotary.
Are you a Rotary member & if so why did you join?
What’s stopping you from joining?
Do you know what Rotary actually does?
This should be quite interesting & enlightening – love any feedback!

What’s stopping you from joining?
My perception is that it’s for older businessmen. My grandfather was a Rotarian.
Do you know what Rotary actually does?
A lot of charity work for the community?

April 20, 2012 at 10:05 am #1101287Up::0Rotary is a charity organisation.
A good way to look at Rotary is just like any other business – money in and money out.
But we’re happy if the balance is just about zero.
The image of “it’s for older businessmen” is what the problem is.
Rotary will welcome anyone but of course if you’re in your 20s/30s and all around you are in their 50s/60s/70s then of course you won’t feel at home.
But Rotary is an excellent networking organisation.April 20, 2012 at 10:05 am #1101376Up::0Rotary is a charity organisation.

I am sure I answered this in another thread, asking for me info, but never got a response.
Also, as I pointed out in the last thread, your link does not work.
Cheers,

No.
What’s stopping you from joining?
Nothing I guess, just my own time is limited.Do you know what Rotary actually does?
Charity, promoting community….As a qualitative response, I would be interested more in Rotary, but I have no idea where they meet, when they meet etc.

April 22, 2012 at 10:39 pm #1101293Up::0Netboost – Rotary does good work and it’s great you are part of it.
However, your link is incorrect and also is not good for anyone who is not on FB.It should be https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rotary-District-9630-Inc/240978772616480 (remove the last http:// in your link at the end).
Add your normal website to your sig if you want people to learn more
http://www.rotary9630.org/new/You can add your Facebook link in your profile details and it will come up as a button. Just make sure it is correct as above note.
Cheers.

But Rotary is an excellent networking organisation.Yep, clubs around the world are struggling with this – from our surveys so far it seems many people are open to joining Rotary but have no idea how to join or what’s involved once they join.
We’re also trying to fight the perception that Rotary is just for older businessmen – in fact its for young and old, male & female!
If any of you have ideas about what would make Rotary more appealing or relevant to YOU then please post here about it! We’re very serious about rejuvenating Roatary’s public perception & attracting vibrant & diverse members.
