    Hi there

After speaking to a lot of my tradie clients and those that I have written business plans for, I decided that there was a market out there for someone to help builders apply for registration. Part of their reg requirements is a business plan, resume and financials and these are areas I specialise it – so why not give it a go?

Website is http://www.registerasabuilder.com.au and I have no experience designing web or content but gave it a shot. Feel free to criticise away… I can take it. I hope.

    1. What needs reviewing? WEBSITE AND CONCEPT AND PRICE
    2. What does your business do? HELPS BUILDERS ATTAIN REGISTRATION
    3. Who is your target market? UNLICENSED BUILDERS
    4. What specific concerns do you have? HOW TO GET THE ‘WORD’ OUT THERE AND APPEALING TO MY MARKET. AND PRICE.

    Would love some feedback!

    Hi Alysha,

I like the concept. I can only imagine that there is a definite market out there for this service. I am not a web developer/designer either so purely from a visitor’s perspective –

I know you have a packaged price on the home page, but consider a “prices” menu option? Not everyone will see it on the home page and might go looking for prices – having them easy to find will help keep people at your site instead of moving on.

On the subject of pricing – I think your package price is reasonable. I would like to see whether that includes GST or not. I also have zero idea of your competition so obviously it would be worth seeing how your price point compares to others providing the same services.

I would also like to see a Contact Us page. I know you’ve put your phone number and email on the ‘Us’ page – but I like to see About Us and Contact Us as two separate pages… And, I’d actually like to see more about you… for example, when I consider doing business with someone I find on the web I like to see – their registered name (trading or company), ABN, phone number, email – and address. If you are perhaps working from home and don’t want to put your address there, then either a postal address – or a suburb/state. Whilst I can see that your services could be provided interstate some people do prefer doing business with locals, and, like me generally like to see where/who they’re doing business with.

As to getting word out there – if you’re intending to promote primarily online, it could be worth engaging the services of an SEO professional.. they could help ensure your content and strategy will help the site rank well – or, a copywriter who offers these services as well.

Anyway, just my 2 cents… all the best with it :)

Wowee! Thanks so much for that dedicated reply, I am going to take it all on board and implement a lot of what you said, I really appreciate the time you have taken, Jacqui!
