    Hi all
I have been doing up a new template for a site of mine I am redeveloping.

I want to get some input for a colour palette.

You will see I have gone green, but not real happy with it. I’d like to try to have an Aussie feel about it through the colours.

Any suggested # palettes ONLY (not review of template etc, thanks anyway) (about 5 colours) would be greatly appreciated.

You can click through by clicking Queensland and the same spot on other pages.

I’m pretty crap when it comes to colours but I do reccomend checking this out
    http://colorschemedesigner.com/

Pretty useful note the feature that shows what the colours would look like on a basic website

My advice is to stick to a basic triad of colours – or at least just strip it down to one green (of various tints). At the moment you have five different greens on your page and then a really stark yellow that doesn’t do you any favours..

Have you considered using a white background to make your greens seem more crisp… and perhaps go for a less dirty green…

Perhaps the green could be #5ca11e
and the yellow could be #ffea00

    Good luck

Are you looking at specifically ‘Aussie green and gold’ for your Australian feel? I’m just thinking perhaps if you want to capture Australian without the green/gold you could think along the lines of the Qld Rail Traveltrain ads where they used the elements for their colour schemes. I was always really taken with the ‘red’ of the outback ones.

That doesn’t really help you with specific colours though does it?! Just a thought as to what colour invoke the feeling of Australian I guess!

    Thanks for the responses
It shows my lack of colour skills in having different greens rather than tints/shades. I will put that into my consciousness.

Yes the Aussie green and gold I thought, just to allow two colours, but everything is up t6o be changed on the colours side

danb, wow those a bright ;) so maybe tints of those….?

Maybe even other colours = maybe off the ‘hot pie’ Qld govt logo.

Hehe.. Yeah I should have mentioned I’d suggest with using 40% of that green as your base and 100% only as minor flourish details!

http://kuler.adobe.com/ is a great resource for finding and being inspired by colour schemes :)
