Hello, Intenet Strangers
Long time lurker and a first-time poster here.
Hopefully, I can get involved in the community by sharing my experiences as a technical founder for a few different businesses. Hit me up if you want some friendly advice about building something (with code, of course – I’m terrible with wood and bricks).
Here are some of the recent things I have worked on:
During lock-down (I’m in Melbourne .. gasp) – I’ve had a bit of spare time and some difficulty focusing on tasks and getting stuff done. So I founded ActionBuddy. With the use of Accountability Partners and Loss Aversion, I’m a lot more focused.
About 18 months ago I founded MindMyBag – A network of luggage storage locations that were ideal for people staying in an Airbnb or people who needed a more convenient location to keep their bags (rather than their hotel etc).
Anyhow, hope to get involved and hear more about what you are all working.
Cheers!

Hi MrtMrT, Thanks for the feedback! It was going well until COVID-19 put a sharp stop on travel. I’m hopeful that travel will pick up soon and we can all enjoy going on holidays sometime soon

Welcome. Cool ideas you have there.
Is action buddy kind of like Asana – an organisation tool to help manage tasks?
October 9, 2020 at 7:45 am #1224221Hi BusinessTrade,
Thanks for your feedback.
ActionBuddy is for task / goal setting. You can use it for fitness, business, your 9-5, or something else. Essentially you set the goals/tasks for the week and you make a commitment to get them done. The idea is to improve focus and reduce procrastination.
For example, my tasks this week:
– Onboard 3 new luggage storage locations for mindmybag.
– Write 3 blogs and publish them
– Set up the affiliate program for action buddyIf I don’t get it all done, I will donate $20 to an evil politician (guess who?? haha).
Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for clarifying. I suppose it’s kind of like a software version of the electric workout band -https://http://www.ebuyer.com/blog/2014/10/the-shocking-workout-band/
(Using negative reinforcement to condition one to procrastinate less)
Hopefully it does well!

Hopefully it does well!Yeah, a similar concept. Some people work better with rewards and other people (like me) work better with penalities.
