Hi All,

I have recently started up my own business – Gal Friday Administration Services (http://www.galfriday.com.au) – doing both bookkeeping and administration.

After working for the same company for 9 years I was made redundant, and I thought it was time to branch out so completed my Cert 4 in Accounting and Cert 4 in Bookkeeping.

I have now been unemployed for nearly a month (not long I know) but the days are driving me crazy – I only have one client so far. I have registerd for a couple of groups (Aust Bookkeepers Network, Flying Solo, Virtually Yours) but am wondering what else I can be doing with my day to drum up some business.

I was thinking of going door to door in my area (Woolloongabba Bris) and introducing myself as there are loads of small buisinesses but am worried how this might look.

My other issue is that I am not a registerd BAS agent, has anyone else used ABN for BAS or signed up as an ABN Tax member?

The other thing is local networking groups and accountants that dont have their own book keeping service.

Door to door is always worth a try, while you aren’t doing anything else it can’t hurt.
