    Have a look at our survey on “How good is your Software?”

    We have:
    MYOB – the long term small business solution alive and kicking with multiple solutions
    Xero – the newer cloud based / browser based solution expanding and awakening the market
    Intuit – the big USA player bringing its cloud based / browser based solution to Australia (branded as “QuickBooks Online”)
    Reckon – long term Australian player changing its solutions after breaking with Intuit (Previously Quicken and QuickBooks branded, now “Reckon” branded)
    Saasu – the quiet achiever, long term cloud based / browser based Australian solution

    These 5 make up the major players in the small business accounting software / business solutions space with many others around the fringes.

    Compulsory items for business
    Based on current technology and business procedures we consider that the following features are a MUST before a business would consider embracing the software: Bankfeeds, Electronic Payments, Emailing of invoices, Payment options, Payroll, Record keeping functionality, Easy Adjusting, Good support systems, Good reporting, Good Processing & Data-Entry speed and Deposit slips

    We also believe that all the software must soon have push button lodgment of all the normal forms.
