Hi i am siva. I am looking to import black, marble & granite stones from india to Australia. I am new to this and seeking any help or advise please. We have own black stone mines & factories in india where we take the raw stone from mine and cut and polish the stone according to the requested sizes. So if anyone can help me how to import that would be really great & i am so thankfull.

    Welcome to the forums Siva!

Hopefully someone can help you out with the shipping side of things. I would try to find out who wants your product in Australia, and how much they are willing to pay. Then you can start to work out if it’s going to be profitable with shipping costs etc.

    Best of luck!
    Dave

hi Sivasj, I can help you with the shipping and customs clearances. If you want an estimate, I would need addresses, weights and dimensions of pallets. If you want to know the Government charges you need to send me the invoice details (I don’t know if you are up to that stage yet). Most importantly, I can help you avoid the expensive mistakes in shipping. Be careful.

    Hi Sivasj,

Sorry I missed the reply . please email me with the complete address details and the weights and dims of each pallet

By the way you may not be able to put 25 tonnes into one 20′ container. When you email me, tell me how much you want to ship and I will find the right method or offer alternate volumes

    Hi robdash,

Thank you so much for the reply. I am so happy for your reply. Adress :– vijayasree marbles & ravi kiran polishing slabs pvt lmtd. Bethamcharla . Kurnool (district). Andhra pradesh ( state). Those are two different companies.

The orders is mostly customised and depends On the customers sizes weight differs. May i plz know the Australian size standards , so i can tell how much is the pallet size and will the weight. Because it’s completely different from indian standards to international standards. Is there any possibility to get contacted with different mode. I mean mail id .

    Thank you

Try to keep the pallets at 1000kg or less.
Standard pallets can be 120 * 120 cm or 120*80 cm
Pallets must be ISPM15 certified. You must stipulate this with your supplier. If they are not Certified ISPM15 your freight will be ordered into quarantine for fumigation by methyl bromide. The extra costs will be many hundreds if not over $1000
