Hi, I’ve spent way too much time on this site now, so much so that I’m blind to it. Tell me your thoughts, although I reckon it’s time to leave it be for a few months!

Importantly, is it easy to use?

Little light on the Flash Phil. I heard Macromedia have some big product developments ahead, might be worth starting to prepare now.

I really like the over all design. Very clean and easy to navigate.

Good to see you on FS. Pretty good
Mob here unless your pro-flash or have an opinion on SEO :)

    Hi there,

Is it easy to use? Yes. I think the navigation is fine, and I like that you have included (on your costings page) some additional information about the features. I think this makes the service easy to follow & understand; just by reading I have a very clear picture of what I would get for x amount of $.

Down the bottom of the pages there is a link to “Newsletter Unsubscribe” but there doesn’t seem to be an obvious place to subscribe in the first place so I am a little confused by that? There also doesn’t seem to be an option to follow your Blog? (By the way, your latest post Protect your Brand & Credibility caught my eye. I write a blog also, mostly about trademark registration, which I consider is brand protection – so it was quite interesting to see a different take on ‘brand protection’ :))

In any event, I think the site looks fine/easy to use. All the best with it.

Thanks guys and Jacqui for reading my blog. I really need to nut down with some more posts. I didn’t realise people still subscribed to blogs. Cheers – Phil

Oh, maybe they don’t? (I still do, but that’s not necessarily the norm ;))

Actually I might write a feature that lets users subscribe, but instead of a feed, it emails them the new post. I shall write it down in my big book of stuff to do!

    Hi

Your new site looks really good and has some great features. As I walked through it a couple of things did catch my eye:

    • The photos of volcanoes/fire behind the slider on the home page confused me and I must admit they were a bit of a turn off. I’d consider changing these to something more appealing, or relevant to what you are trying to sell
    • Bottom right column on your home page – “sucessfully” should be “successfully”

Other than that, I love it – especially the colour scheme :-)

Cheers MJS, yeah I must admit I am a little over the volcano theme myself. The problem is finding a low frequency panoramic background that’s cool! Thanks for spotting that spelling mistake, I’m on it!

I agree wirh MJS, the volcano which is the main focus of the website is irrelevant and the use of flash uses too many resources.

I also find white coloured font on a black background is a strain on the eyes or my eyes anyway.

IMO I would not stop on this website, I would keep looking for a better website that specialises in web design.

There is no Flash on the website.

What was the reason behind the volcanoes?

It’s a little disappointing when a web developer doesn’t know the difference between what’s Flash and what isn’t….

As for VXD, I fully intended to change the theme (the Volcanoes) every week / fortnight just to keep the site fresh and funky. I chose Volcanoes because they’re cool. Something a bit different is all.

Seems like I’m the only fan of Volcanoes in the whole world! :-D Nah seriously, if they’re off putting should probably change them to something a little more on topic. Will make a note…

Thank you for all of the feedback chaps.

I’m all for something different and if you like Volcanoes then use them but those images you used don’t really work.

People who visit your site will focus too much on figuring out why there are Volcanoes on the site.

I think you should lose the volcano photos in the background of the 2 panels.
    Keep them as flat colours.

The site is really bold and somewhat creative but the navigation menu is so tiny and uninspiring.

No need for more feedback folks, I’m going to radically change my website. Whilst it’s okay for browsing, I want to change it into more of a sales funnel. Thanks for all your comments and suggestions.
