    Hello all,

As many of you may know good ole Australia post has raised their prices again. I’m over it and and can’t do it anymore.

I ship small packages worldwide that are usually under 300 grams and rarely over a kilo.

Can any of you kindly point me in the direction of other international shipping companies that are competitive in pricing? I’d be very grateful.

    Bas

    Hi Bas,

Nice to see you again, and I hope business is going well :)

We asked this question recently on Facebook, and got heaps of suggestions here.

However, I suspect most people were talking in terms of domestic deliveries – I’ll be interested to see what suggestions you receive for international ones.

    All the best,
    Jayne

    Hello Jayne,

Thanks for your response. I had seen the post on facebook but that was mostly about domestic shipping. Is there a big list of international shippers around? Im sure heaps of people ship internationally and Id love to know who everyone uses. You know when you get this really, really frustrated feeling of being at your whits end? Well, thats where I am with my shipping situation. I use DHL Global Mail for international and some times Australia Post. AP is insanely expensive. And Global Mail is decently priced but Im starting to have quite a few problems with them and I want out. Im desperate. Im really really desperate. Where else should I be looking for good, cheap and reliable international shipping options? Id love to see a list put together. Thanks for your help and kind regards,

    Bas

    Hi Bas,

On that original Facebook post I had asked about international recommendations but none came through… so I’ve reposted the question here. Keep an eye on it, as I’m sure some suggestions will flow in.

    Cheers,

    Jodie

    Hello Jodie,

Thanks very much for posting on Facebook. Only a few people replied and most of those are for large shipments like containers. I am looking to ship out of Australia small stuff under a kilo that will reach the US or Europe or Asia in a decent time frame of like 7 days for a decent rate that is trackable. I cant believe this is so hard. UPS and Fed Ex charge like $65 for my packages. My packages are small 5x7inch padded envelopes mostly. $65 for a package thats 200 grams in that time frame with tracking sounds really astronomical or is that normal here? Im so desperate for a real solution. :(

    Hi Katie,

Could you post any information here. I post items around 700g in weight and also feel trapped by lack of choice when posting internationally, to places like America.

    Provide any quotes?
    Thanks :)

It is really quite ridiculous that international shipping costs so much when other countries can ship here at a fraction of the cost. Really reduces competitiveness of manufacturing in Australia

    Hi DK,

We use TNT (a lot) and our rates are about 1/3 what you quoted. TNT Express – parcels and freight.
Your volume (spend per week) may be a factor however.

    good luck

    Hi

Just wondering if you found a solution to cheaper international shipping? Au post has just hiked up their prices to prohibitive levels so I’m also looking for alternatives – would love to know if you found something??

    Thanks!
