    Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum. I tried searching for my question but could not get an answer. So here it goes:

I have started a new small business, sole trader. Business needs small investment. The investor is in overseas and would like to invest in my business. However, his limitation is that he can only invest through his company, his accountant suggested him to buy shares through the company.
My question is, what is the best way for me to move forward:
    1. Should i register a company?
    2. Register a partnership?
    3. Is there anyway investment can be done on the existing sole trader business?

Would it be beneficial to go to an accountant and discuss this matter? What would be the costs like?

Hopefully i have explained it properly?

    Regards
    Saad

    Hi Saad,

    Welcome to Flying Solo!

I’m no expert but I’d say that if the partnership is a big enough opportunity for you to consider, then it’s important enough to invest a small amount of money to get the right advice.

Hopefully some of our accountants can give you a price guide.

    Dave

    Thanks Dave,

I have booked an appointment with an Accountant to get some advice.

    Cheers
