Hello fellow Soloists,
A quick post to introduce myself as the new kid on the block.

After decades as a corporate marketing & communications specialist, living abroad, travelling the world, & meeting amazing people, I decided it was time to do something I have always wanted & begin my own business in the travel industry.

Armed with the knowledge gained from my own travel (mis)adventures I could see the need for practical, useful & eco-friendly travel amenities. I also wanted a platform to share my lessons learned that could ease travel stress & generate inspiration for others.

I am super excited & terrified to say I have started a business to do exactly this – Pilgrim Packs.

It is early days and I have already experienced ups & downs of the rollercoaster that is small business. My patience & confidence both being tested on a daily basis but I love it!
Please have a look a my site & share any feedback, I am growing on a very low budget so still more products to come and I am currently working on professional pics (please be gentle but all constructive feedback appreciated).

I am also studying New small business cert iv and you will see me posting as I ask for help with my business plan.

Thank you in advance
Charli

Welcome aboard the forums @Charlotte-ts!

Love the name, and it seems like a cool idea :) I wonder if you could offer a “pickup from airport” option, by partnering with a shop already in the airport?

Best of luck!
Dave

Thanks so much Dave! That is absolutely the direction I want to go, I have been waiting for (and need to send out some surveys) customer feedback for favourite amenities and improvements etc so I have a solid product to approach the airport stockists. I’m also dedicating a lot of time to content creation to build my community and of course credibility. Hoping to achieve this within 6 months. Also thinking of backpackers & train stations.

Great idea, I like the website, but I’m confused by your premade packs. They just don’t seem to contain the products I, and others I have travelled with would use or want. It appears that you have being able to get supplies of certain things so grammed them in the packs, but not really considered what travelers really use. Maybe next time at the airport ask some fellow travels for a peek into their travel bags.

Plus a big one for me, I have no idea who you are, you list a PO box, an anonymous email address, NO contact phone number, your about us shows a picture of 2 people but that could just be a pic of someone on a flight you were on. Trust is a big thing.

Include a real about us, a name, something that makes me think you are a human, not some bot.

I looked up the ACN which I eventually found in your terms and conditions, but it’s not valid.

There is no ABN listed, but I have tracked one down, but that shows a sole trader so the ACN is not correct anyhow.

Trust trust and more trust.

Noted to all you have shared. Definitely me and my partner in the photo but will update and add names. I had kept more private to avoid spam etc but absolutely see your point and will make changes.
Re the ABN etc last week or two I have moved from sole trader to company and I will check and update.
Re the products, the curse of low cash flow I have put basics in as per many conversations with travellers from various walks of life but now really interested in what you would like to see? Thank you for such a helpful response!!
