    Hi there,

I’ve only just come across the term executive coaching and am not entirely sure if it’s what I’m looking for, but i’ll try my best to explain my circumstances:

I’m 27, am a mining supervisor in a regional NSW (Underground coal mining) and have recently undergone an exam (both written and oral) to further my career into the next level of management within my industry.

Unfortunately, I was assessed as not yet competent for my oral exam, of which I believe nerves, presentation, professionalism played a role. I didn’t think I done poorly in the exam, however I don’t want to leave any stone unturned in presenting myself to the next exam in November.

It’s highly possible my age and experience contributed to the result, but I do think I could benefit from a better understanding of myself in order to portray my ability in the upcoming exam / position.

If you can suggest someone, or may be able to help me flesh out what I’m trying to explain i’d be most obliging.

    Thank you
    Alex

Hi Alex, yes execution is a big part of what you have describe.

Knowing what to say and how to say it is all about communication and presentation techniques which is all part of coaching.

Self confidence, recognising limiting beliefs, tone, pitch and body language will contribute to your success.

I have helped several people gain promotions with my interview coaching and this sounds like what you are looking for.

Please feel free to email me.

    Hey Alex,

I don’t have a referral for you but wanted to add that it sounds like you need a Career Coach who specialises in mining.

An executive coach is typically hired by companies to coach their existing execs, such as their top managers, about team building skills, communication with employees and leadership skills among other things.

    Hope that helps.

    Pooja
