Hi!

I am about to take the plunge with my new business. My next step is to get a great website. My business will start by offering corporate and event massage services but I have plans to diversify quickly. Therefore, I am looking for a web designer to work with in the long term and possibly that will offer a website that I could also edit partially myself. Please if you have had great experiences with someone or an agency, or if you would like to work on the project, get in touch. Thanks!

Hi Nancy

I can’t help you with the actual work, but I can offer you some advice when it comes to choosing the right person. You will no doubt be swamped with offers to do the work as web design has become something that everybody [thinks they] can do and your biggest problem will be weeding out those who actually can. The Flying Solo community is great and hopefully you’ll be able to get some personal referrals from people you trust, but if you’ve also asked elsewhere or listed on freelancer sites then you could quite easily have a list of over 50 people to work with.

Your best bet will be to find somebody with a great portfolio and with links to live sites that you can test yourself – screenshots aren’t enough. They’ll all probably recommend using a CMS (content management system) which will enable you to edit the content yourself, some sort of theme to make it look pretty, and either offer to host it or point you in the right direction to somebody who can. If you then want to offer bookings through your site you might need to integrate it with a booking management system (or if you’re small then email or Google Calendar might be enough), plus you’ll need to look at some basic SEO (search engine optimisation). Make sure your site is mobile friendly from the start and fully tested in all common browsers and screen resolutions.

If you want a second opinion I’d be happy to have a look through the proposal you end up getting and let you know whether you’re on the right track with what they’re suggesting. Feel free to PM me if you want any advice.

I don’t offer website services but I just saw your post and wanted to highlight a questions you need to ask before engaging anyone.

– What do you want the website to do?
– What is your budget?

The type of services you require will vary radically depending on what you need.

For example, you could build a perfectly excellent website yourself very inexpensively but is your time worth that?

Alternately, you might want use the site as a way to attract new clients through search engines (SEO) and perhaps book events…. the options are endless but having a starting point will be really helpful.

If you are clear about what you need you will be in a much better position to work out who can help you best and at what cost.

HI Nancy

I’m more than happy to have a chat with you to go through your needs, and what you are wanting the website to do. On the surface I can certainly help with what you have asked for.

If you have a look at purpletux.com.au you can get a feel for the work that I’ve done in the past, and you can see if you think it will be a good fit.

If you want to speak further, please get in touch and we can take it from there.

Have a great day!

Daniel.

Hi Nancy,

There is a web designer on ProjectCred that could be suitable for your business if you are on a tight design budget but still want a very professional looking website. They specialise in small businesses and have a starter website package at $390+GST. Feel free to have a look at their portfolio (http://www.jadaj.com.au/portfolio).

Let me know if you are interested and I can organise for a free half an hour consultation with them.

Cheers,
Steven

Ok,

I am about to take the plunge with my new business.
Excellent, we all done that and you are amongst greats.

My next step is to get a great website.
What defines a great website…. well we do not know but we will help you to get out there.

My business will start by offering corporate and event massage services but I have plans to diversify quickly.
Excellent so we are looking at a site to do bookings? Mobile site for you to view your bookings? Location aware stuff like…. “Hey I am here now.. if you close and book within the next 15min you get xyz discount” (The idea is to get more customers in one place to reduce travel… We all want to be green right :-).

Therefore, I am looking for a web designer to work with in the long term and possibly that will offer a website that I could also edit partially myself.

Lets start with giving you some options. http://https://addtocart.bz/help4bis/webdesign-and-build.html
In you case I would start with the 29.99, we build you a desktop page, get you found and known. Nothing too out there, grounded but professional is key.
We build you a business canvas, normally reserved for the higher plans, but it gives us both a good idea where you want to go.

We can add SMS appointments etc as you grow, looking at the market you are targeting now.. it is all sms or mobile… Your clients do not have much time or sitting around so we need to have it “push-button” ready. Perhaps have them pay a booking fee xyz% of the total cost.

Just a few things to think about.
As you see we do not just build you a webpage…. we envision and then build you a webpage.

Request a project to get started.

If you just want a website build… you have a lot of options… if you want experience on tap and that little “angel” and “devil” on you shoulder to get you further you should call us. :-).

Help4bis.com…. we call it that for a reason.
