    Hi everyone,

I’m in the process of setting up a tattoo studio in a bayside suburb in Melbourne. My vision is to provide a studio that is modern, bright and welcoming so that it is very accessible for folk that might otherwise feel intimidated.

I have lots to learn about managing a business outside of my usual comfort zone but I think I may have come to the right place.

    Simon.

    Now that’s a great idea Simon !!

Tattoos are no longer just for the tough guys and your plan to take out the “seedy” feel of a studio should be very popular.

Would love to see you post photos when it’s up and running.

    Wendy :)

    Sounds good!
At first I thought to myself “Now there’s a business that’s a destination business and therefore need not be in an expensive main street shopfront” That is, I first thought (as a tattooed person from the days of my misspent youth) that tattoos are not spur of the moment decisions so you wouldn’t need high foot-traffic for spur of the moment shoppers. Thinking you could avoid the high rent – long lease sign up.

BUT Since they are now so very socially acceptable and so very popular maybe you do? I reckon getting your work examples or catalog on-line on a classy website would be important because the demographic you seek would be high users of Google before purchasing anything and everything. As you build clientele, word of mouth will be invaluable. Good luck with that.
