Touchcover is awesome. It’s a bit strange going from Metro apps to desktop apps like Word and Excel but you get used to it. It sort of feels like Metro ‘crashed’.I have added my Exchange email accounts to the Metro Mail app, no dramas.
Before you go jumping on the ‘No Outlook’ bandwagon, remember iPad the main competitor doesnt have Outlook. The iPad has been distributed to corporate and business in the 100’s of thousands without issue.
For those that require Outlook there is the Surface Pro coming up or the myriad of devices coming with Windows 8. I have not used one yet, but I do like the Dell XPS 12 convertible tablet, and the HP slate 900 looks good. Both full x86 legacy application loving personal computers.
Having said that, I too am an avid Outlook user. Clunky or not it is the center of my business. The Surface RT forces you to use separate apps for Mail & Calender (just like the iPad). I do believe the Surface Pro and other full Win 8 devices will be a better fit for business users, and this is exactly how Microsoft has planned it. If you remind yourself the RT is an iPad equivalent with more productivity features thrown in you’ll be happy. A full workstation replacement it is not.
I agree 100% I’ve had the surface for over a day now (typing this post from it) ands its great! What is the pdf app that you are using as I also want to print pdf’s but not sure how?
November 7, 2012 at 8:47 am #1110960Up::0Me too DanielM, i’m enjoying it very much! I cant possibly see why people would select an iPad over a Surface for business use. Anyhow, there is an app called PDF viewer i believe, its not pinned to the homescreen. Download a pDF from your email and open it. Then swipe the charms bar (right hand side) and send to: printer.
November 7, 2012 at 9:00 am #1110961Up::0It blows my mind why someone would want an iPad. I have been doing everything I can do on my pc conveniently on a tablet. I like how your office docs automatically sync to skydrive. I couldn’t find that pdf app? The pdf reader that comes preinstalled doesn’t let you print? And another pdf app I installed wouldn’t either…

January 24, 2013 at 3:00 am #1110963Up::0Could someone please tell me whether the Facebook App for Windows Surface allows you better use and interaction regarding your FB business page?
Thank you in advance!
