    Hey everyone,

I new to flying solo. This is my first tread.

    I need advise!!!!

I’m looking to start my own business in recruitment – permanent placements…. scary stuff!!

My biggest concern is generating clients! How long before you landed your first client and how did you go about it?

Welcome Azemina. I hope you enjoy the forum.

I still have a photocopy of my first cheque I received when I first started business. And I still help that client.

My first client was the printer who I asked to do my business cards. For different people it is different.

What I also know is that a lot of the people who I thought would be clients before I started business did not become clients. Or they did after watching me in business for 2 years to see if I was going to hang around.

How long did it take for your business to start getting momentum?

2 years? After that time I was earning a salary again.

19 years later and I am still trying to keep momentum going. It is a constant struggle to evolve and maintain culture.

Thank you that is very helpful information.

As a newbie entering into the big world of business ownership, what would be your advise to someone in my position?

You will need some start up clients. Trying to get work with nothing to do is nearly impossible.
