Hi all, we want to hear feedback from any busy individuals!
We would like to get more feedbacks now to ensure we are focusing on what our target users need before we’ve gone to far.
Background:
A platform (similar to uber eats) for busy individuals to order and pick up a huge range of meal kit choices from their local restaurants. All sauce are provided and pre-measured and the ingredients will be pre-chopped and packed by your local restaurants. You can then follow a simple online recipe to cook at home.
Problem we are trying to solve:
Rather than doing grocery shopping yourself, you can buy different cuisines meal kits (e.g. Korean, Japanese) from restaurants. Ingredients are pre-measured and pre-chopped to save you time to cook at home with no wastage.
Comparing to other meal kits service, we offer a wider range of meal kit options to try.We also created a simple site to test out our idea https://www.riceemeal.com/ any feedbacks would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
July 31, 2019 at 2:02 am #1220772Up::0not a fan, I go to a restuarant not because I can cook it but because I wanna see there idea of the meal. I can cook most dishes myself anyway but eating out I am experiencing their interpretation.
like I love blood and pickled cabbage, liver and chilli and cold pickled chicken feet, of course I have made it myself but half the pleasure is eating with others.
July 31, 2019 at 4:25 am #1220773Up::0I can see where you are coming from, but in reality all the busy person is doing, is combing and eating the final ingredients, isn’t the joy of cooking the prep, the selection of ingredients, we never follow the recipe, if we are just basically having what you give us as a choice, but I have to put it in a pot, I may as well just buy the pre cooked from the local thai place.
Not sure what problem you are really solving, if the person really wants to cook as in really cook.
July 31, 2019 at 4:56 am #1220774Up::0Thanks Bert, that is very true.
We also considered that, so we are exploring another usp which is being a platform that has the WIDEST range of meal kit options.
e.g. having 200+ different meal kits rather than going down the path of pre-chopping the ingredients. And each month we will find a couple of new trendy dishes in different countries so that people can learn how to cook them at home with our meal kit.
e.g. any interesting dishes that were featured in the food magazine last month.Do you think that sounds more appealing?
Thank you again for giving us your feedback!
July 31, 2019 at 4:58 am #1220775Up::0I think is a great concept, although like home deliveries there seems to be an ever growing amount of competition in this segment.
On the face of it, seems to me the difference you provide is that the kits are being prepared at the restaurant as opposed to some type of central kitchen?
So you are sort of seeking the middle ground between getting a pre cooked home delivered restaurant meal and a kit essentially of the same product, but the consumer is finishing it themselves.
For me the differentiator is being able to prepare your favouite restaurant meal yourself rather than not having to go grocery shopping – all the others are doing that already.
Good luck with it.
August 6, 2019 at 10:42 pm #1220776Up::0Research already done for this, no? Just anaylse the players in the US where it’s huge, just about doing it right with high quality ingredients and meals, and having huge $$$ behind you for marketing.
October 15, 2020 at 3:02 am #1220777Up::0I’d be interested in trying it. I’ve done things like Marley Spoon etc where they deliver all the ingredients. The idea of that, but supporting local businesses/restaurants is a nice twist.
As a parent of a young child, it can be very hard to get to restaurants regularly, so being able to do this would be beneficial. Although whether I’d choose this over just ordering the food is a big question mark — maybe it has to be something that’s off menu (like an old favourite or a monthly special)?
I tried the website but it doesn’t seem to be working today.
