As a boss, my go to would be around, “Supporting staff to be successful by developing the best tools for them, eliminating inefficiencies and training them to be the best in the business.”
My answer was probably directed specifically at my current situation, rather than a broad statement, but thank again
May 18, 2019 at 2:28 am #1219894Up::0Sorry @Mischelle can’t help myself, but maybe a little bit of wine will help clarify the situation.

LOLOLOLOL, OMG, you made me do a double take then, I thought I made a bad typo LOLI am taking the whole afternoon off, sitting down, watching some Suncorp Super Netball, having a beverage (not yet @JacquiPryor – in another couple of hours) while hubby is working away in his workshop. He will laugh at me yelling at the screen – which he can hear from there..
So in summary, I am switching off today and tomorrow I will get on the ride-on mower and clean up about 3 acres of overgrown grass after picking up sticks and branches for about 2 hours, yeah to gardening !!!!! and shoveling alpaca poop.
But, I find it helps me relax the brain for a while so it can kick start again on Monday.
May 20, 2019 at 9:56 am #1219896Up::0A little late to the thread @Mischelle – firstly, I am actually in a really similar situation with a support staff member and whether hand holding is me being control freak or her really needing it?! She knows/understands more than she knows she understands! I get tempted (daily) to throw her in the deep end because I know she’ll swim rather than sink but still don’t do it for some reason, so, completely get your post here!
Secondly – notice the members commenting here? Depending on location you might not have to do your own mowing and yard work! @bb1 might not know it until I post it here, but in my head is “forum father” – don’t always have to agree, but always sound advice and doesn’t beat around the bush. Great respect for everything Bert has to say here! (like, recently we didn’t agree about time of day for wines but we got over that and I think we’re still friends?!)
Thirdly @Paul – FS Concierge and @Johnny are both always so helpful. The time they both take to address so many posts here is admirable. Reminds me why this is such a great forum/community to be a part of! We really do have a virtual sounding board around here!
Fourthly, your last post (tagging) me was after midday, so, well…
Fifthly, I refuse to think about ‘Let it Go’ and get sucked into a Frozen vortex!
(In essence, I’m no help whatsoever but if you tag me, if nothing else, I will respond! But, in seriousness, if ever feeling like you’re overthinking, stuck or unsure – feel free to reach out either here – or shoot me an email jacqui@mmwtrademarks.com.au or call me (8288 1432) – more than happy ANY time to be a sounding board or brainstorm partner or anything you need! – and, we can do that over coffee or wine – I like both so not fussy as to preference )

I should be clearer in stating I am wanting her to do more marketing, with some sales, but I am the person who does the majority sales side, trying to get meetings etc, which I am good at and actually enjoy, I just get bogged down in the marketing side “marketing collateral etc”
I love this ” “I will be successful in my role when….””
I am going to use that, we have a staff meeting next week so I will carve out some time with each of my staff separately and ask them all this question, even me.
My answer will be “I will be successful in my role when I learn to delegate without conditions”
Thanks for starting this thread Mischelle, SUCH interesting reading. I also like the statement/question above about success, I am also going to use it! What a great way to keep the important things front of mind. Best of luck with your decision. And taking a day off to download in the middle of all the overwhelm is such a great idea. It always surprises me how much I am able to solve/think with more clarity about, after a mind rest

Thoughts?Thoughts, well, I had to choose between a 2016 Annie’s Lane Cab Merlot, or a 2016 Chateau Tanunda Cab Sauv which was selected at the cellar door just a few weeks ago.
My thoughts were, I couldn’t decide so opened them both.

OMG, very jealous Bert. I have a range of “empty” bottles now. LOLMay 23, 2019 at 6:37 am #1219907Up::0bb1, post: 265602, member: 53375 wrote:I need a glass of red, at 6am I think to help my thoughts.
6am is 6pm somewhere right? We sound like a bunch of booze hounds, but I know we aren’t, we just like teasing each other, or in your case Bert, making us all very jealous of your wine choices.
