    Hi Everyone,
I’m starting up a design business focusing on invitation and stationery design & it would be great if anyone could help me out by filling out a couple of questionnaires for me to gain some feedback.

    and

Any other feedback in regards to my business idea would be great also.

    Thanks

    Hi Giulia, welcome to FS.

I did the surveys but I’m not the one to really order stationary and such although I do like good stationary.

From what I could gather about your products in the surveys what would be most important to me would be quality. That is, I could not cost effectively produce what I wanted my self by buying paper and using a work laser printer etc. What would get me to buy would be really fancy paper/materials and very high commercial quality printing etc.

p.s. I love plastic business cards with the rounded corners. They put paper/cardboard ones on show. I have had many people compliment me on them.

    Hi Giulia,
I completed the survey. I would think that if someone has gone to the lengths of wanting something made up by a specialist, their primary concern would be quality (as Gordon has suggested).

    Cheers

Hi, I’ve completed your survey. Sounds like a neat idea. Based on the survey alone, the business is selling templated stationary and invitations delivered as 100% complete? What the delivery of those invitations? If the customer can provide a list of names and addresses, you can sell a delivery service also.

Do you plan to provide custom design services to compliment the customer-driven products? If so, perhaps check out a service I am involved in: Design Quotes. We provide daily job leads to graphic designers.

    Check it out:

    Hi Giulia

Your idea sounds great and just completed the 2 questionnaires.

The feature that stood out for me in the past in relation to customised stationary was having a great search facility between certain occupations/categories available with unique designs targeting that specific clientele in professional, quirky and humorous designs.

Best wishes for your venture and let us know when your site is up – a lot of us are bound to need stationary and/or invitations!

    Hi Giulia

I have just completed your surveys, however not sure how much help I will really be as I don’t really organise these sorts of things ( i must admit, unfortunatley my wife does it for me).

I would also suggest trying to get exposure through as many sources as possible. I have just set up a new business, and I plan to have a page advertising clients business’ or services as part of my website. For example, I have a mortgage broker, and accountant and a physio business that are using my service, and I will let them advertise on my site. I have a couple of salespeople, and I will list them and their services (real estate and car sales) so my business’s clients can potentially use them. The accountant will prepare an End Of Financial Year checklist, which I will email to all clients.

I think getting on business (lets call it) “meeting boards” couls also get exposure, or making strategic relationships and utilising others email lists to promote would also help.

    Best of luck

Everyone’s response has been great. I’ve had to think up a new business name, I’m having trouble deciding on one.

I’ve made a poll here http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2SNNBD2 I would really appreciate everyone’s help in deciding which sounds best & also anyones thoughts.

    Thanks
