    Hi Everyone,
    I’m a Sales Agent, and work independently on the road and from the home office. I currently specialize in Optical Frames.

    Its great and I love it, and I’m sure there are many like me out there, just rarely seem to bump into any of you….

    Found this site tonight and thought I’d give Networking a go. This is a first for me, but would love to hear how everyone else is coping with the Economic Downturn.

    Hey there! And a big welcome :)

    I really admire anyone out there doing the sales rep slog – gave it a go once and its not for me!

    Economic Downturn?…… Haven’t experienced any impact of that, and don’t expect too.

    From what I hear from the optical industry, sales and consultations are still doing well – glasses are a necessary, not a want :)

    Hey Jacoza and welcome. The only bit on the economic downturn I’ve been feeling is my clients hesitance to pay me. Maybe it’s because I don’t show up at their offices with a Louisville Slugger often enough, not sure.

    I can vouch for the networking on here though, it’s a winner. This forum is rich with new ideas and highly motivated and capable people. It’s awesome.

    The downturn is definitely squeezing businesses, but from discussion around here it seems not as much as the media makes out (but it’s different for different industries/businesses).

    Welcome aboard! This forum is fantastic for networking and
    tapping into expertise. You’ll have heaps of fun and learning on the way.

    I have to agree, from the businesses I’ve spoken to, not many have seen a downturn. So i guess it just depends on the industry you’re in. Luckily for you glasses are definitely a ‘need’ so focus on that. I find that if you focus on the downturn you lose your creativity and sense of direction.

    Hi Jacoza
    Have you got a large range of optical? I am in the same field but in manufacturing. I am looking at a specialised range of optical (and sunglass) which I believe is not being catered for.
    I have not done any research yet, as I am still in the “infant” stages of my plans, but perhaps you have a range that is suitable? I have done some searches with alibaba into asian facilities, and have some samples, but am still looking for other avenues.
    Do you have a website or a catalogue of your range?
