    Hello all

    Glad to find this site.

My name is Alex Gunawan. I am a sole trader, owned and operated a graphic / architecture design business for 10 years, and now trying to venture to the unknown world of online clothing retail. Its my wife’s idea, and I think it is great opportunity.

Got website and everything set up already, purchase a Magento template, and got the web live. Website is http://www.inara.com.au
We are selling only girls (1-6 yo) clothings. Trying to be specialized.

Right now its just trying to spread the words through ads.

Cheers everyone. I will be tuning in here often, listening for hints, tips, and coaches.

    Hi

It looks fantastic, the site definitely feels warm and I would recommend a look to my friends with kids. Good luck, I would say its a competitive world but nothing like a challenge to get you up and going right?

Let us know if we can help with anything.

Hey thanks for TheGoldenGoose and AGMBris for the warm welcome.

Please do have a visit. I design all the banners myself, with help of the purchase of some stock cliparts.

The model in the slider is my daughter, only managed to get her on to some clothing for me to shoot before she feels bored.

We just have a thing for cute clothes, just love how it looks, dunno how its gonna sell, though. Hopefully lots of people will like it.

Looks great ! Just one suggestion, maybe focus a little more on the clothing with your photos.
Try copying other companies techniques to achieve this. But still a great looking website. good luck.

Very nice website. Good luck with your new venture. Kids online clothing is quite a crowded market but all the better opportunity to be the best.
Watch your inventory levels and back the winners.

Lovely items! My only issue is there are no flat-lay pictures.

Whilst you have lots of beautiful images of each item, some look like they have been taken in a bathroom (?) and lack the detail I would need to make a decision on purchasing.

I know you’ve just started, but the copy also needs to be spruced up a bit. I looked at one top that said it also came in purple, but there was no pic of the purple.

I think if you invest some time (or money) into decent flat lay pictures and get some copy that reflects your items, you’ll be onto a winner!

hey hey…. thank you all for the support and the compliments

yes, I will get some shoot for the flat lay items.
I shoot some of the products myself, and sometimes with 2 kids in hand, a bit hard to get a time when tiny hands didn’t try to snatch my product away from the table.

will work out on this asap. maybe tomorrow I will try to update some.

btw, flower-child, thank you for the input. I am going to look at it straight away. Which top do you remember?

Website looks nice and professional, prices are reasonable, you should be on to a winner.

Good luck. Would be interesting to see how it turns out.

    your site looks great.

If you want more exposure and finding that ads are not giving you a good ROI try sending samples to the kids fashion magazines and can feature your products and website address

kidspot.com.au is also another high traffic site that can send you a lot of targeted visitors, I have a client listed with them so I know they do actually provide a lot of traffic for their monthly fee of something like $150 if I recall correctly, you do need go on a 12 month contract.

I’m biased but doing SEO for your site gives you the most ROI I have found especially in retail

Good luck with your new venture Inara.

I feel that if you have a clear picture of the direction you want your business to take it will come to be.

Does Magento allow for custom HTML so you can have a newsletter subscription box which is a MailChimp style campaign list. Have you considered sending out regular emails to your list akin to online retailers like Baby’s Got Style, Fun Kid, Kid’s Confidential etc.

    Good luck!

P.S. I found an app that integrates mail list sign ups between Magento & MailChimp.

    Cheers!
