Seriously, i got myself motivated yesterday and left the office for my local supplier in order to buy a new productivity tool for the factory.. Got back to factory last night to commence usage and couldnt as had to download 32GB of updates… seriously, i just wanna use it…

Then, then i come in this morning updates all done.. installed so my new ‘productivity device’ is ready for use.. AND ITS BEEN BUSY.. havent had time to watch a movie, play a game or anything…

Anyways, just wanted to share my frustrations… :)

Although, i would love to ask what you have within your work space that allows you to break away from the everyday humdrum of office time??? what keeps you centred or calm or provides that little piece of solitude in those times required?

    Cheers
    Jason

Not to make it a p***ing contest but since we’re a home business and the extent of customer service is sending an email through eBay, I do a lot of my best work sitting in a bean bag with this view.. And then when I need to relax, the PS4, Xbox or a Blu-Ray gets thrown on. Fair bit of cash to assemble but easily saves $100 at a time whenever I normally would have went to the movies etc..

Games of choice.. FIFA 14 on PS4 and Forza 5 on XBox One
Movies of choice.. Anything will bullets whizzing around my apartment!

Looking forward to heading out to the park and learning more about photography as well.

Can’t rank with you guys for gadgets, my office stereo would fit in one of Maclean’s speaker boxes.

A home office has it’s challenges re breakout time, especially living where there’s no cafe society to go mingle with.

    But there’s a few bonuses.

I can cruise in a large garden for a while, and this time of the year you can eat as you walk … currently mainly Pears, Strawberries, Raspberries and Cherry Tomatoes.

Afternoon naps are almost mandatory (that could be an age thing), and there’s usually no one to break the piece and quiet.

Had a big comfy chair too (reading music) but it recently died and went in a skip … which brings up something else … I was checking out Jason’s site for a replacement (Eames lounge chair is tempting :) ) and happened to notice that your site (Simply Replica) is spitting out a double page title in the browser bar (and in your source code), you may want to check it out.

    Cheers

Tis alright mate, aint no p*#sing contest at all.. but i would like to apply for a job in Canberra if you have anything available.. 😮 and i needed to have a chuckle after my day today, so hats off to your kind sir….

My toys are for whilst at office for those odd times i need to ‘chill’ and happens more than not lately… Agree with the movie cost though, oh my so expensive to head out lately…

Choice to watch: Comedy, Action or TV shows such as House of Cards, Elementary, Believe, Game of Thrones, Persons of Interest, The Americans, The Following and oh my TOO MANY.. LOL

Games of choice: Call of Duty GHOSTS!

Now i will rub it in, and when would you be heading to the park to learn more about photography? might be a lil hard in your current predicament.. :p although i would be happy on the beanbag!

Although i must add, i probably trump the bean bag a little with my choices…

    Cheers

Am envious of this mate, even in my ‘spare’ time i do not have this and would be quite sweet to be honest… :)

TY for info on the double link coming up, i think you have told me this previously when had an issue with the web site (Ty again as your insight helped immensely) although i cant see it.. must not be technical enough to sight it so i will try investigate it soon.. appreciate heads up..

Recliner and foot rest, second from the bottom on the left has my name written all over it!

Call of Duty Ghosts was amazing.. I bought it, couldn’t put it down and finished it in 1.5 days. Sold it on eBay for $60, bought Killzone on eBay for $45.

Damn I love eBay.. I’ve even turned playing Playstation in to a profitable past time! LOL

I think it was me that brought that title issue up when I mentioned the sales banner that had an old date on it.

Also very jealous about the garden.. I lose that battle, I have 5 pots on my balcony.. One does hold a strawberry plant that gave me one shrivelled up little strawberry this year..

It’s only appearing in the browser bar (Safari currently)

Some WP guru should be able to tip you exactly whats causing this, seems to be occurring on every page.

Living rural does have it’s advantages, but it can also get a tad boring at times.

Don’t think I can take the credit for the original pick up.

I don’t do PHP , or WordPress in any depth. But in a general sense I’d say there’s a “variable” somewhere holding the title name. In Ruby it’d be something like

    @title = “Simply Replica ..”

I’m pretty sure PHP variables are prefixed with $.

A quick read up suggests a plugin might be doubling up on that variable … as the SEO gurus are always yabbing on about page titles … you probably don’t won’t double dutch in the browser bar.

Sounds like your that busy it all may be irrelevant :)

Jason, you’re using YOAST SEO which by default writes your site name in to the title however most themes this days also do this, resulting in a double up.

Go in to your YOAST settings and look for the submenu ‘Titles and Meta Data’.

Click on ‘Overwrite Titles’ to enable it. This will make it totally overwrite what your theme and other plugins may be trying to do rather than adding to it.

    Fixed

    :)

On another note, have you ever used Crazy Egg or another heat mapping/scroll mapping tool?

I only just found the ‘product type’ menu etc that you have way down the home page and hadn’t bothered browsing most of the site because your main menu only navigates by brange (I’m tired and just made that up but it’s short for brand/range). I wanted to check your site for a funky chair but didn’t want to go through the each range to find it.

If you had crazy egg installed it would show you a heat map of what people click on, I have a feeling that your menu by product type down the page will be getting next to no love and it might be costing you sales because other people like me want to just want to see a menu for ‘chairs’, click on it, and look at all of your funky chairs. Might be worth adding a dropdown to the main menu for ‘By Category’.

    Food for thought :)

PS. There’s even a wordpress plugin but from memory it’s just a bit of javascript that goes in your footer anyway.

    Absolutely perfect my end.

Maybe you should be moonlighting as a web dev.

    Hey Maclean,

Just having a look at the stuff you are suggesting, but in the interim (whilst you are on) do you think the 12 GREY ICON boxes for categories is being overlooked and needs to be more ‘traditional’ in usage?

    TY for input..

    All good now mate

    jt3ta8.png

It will appear in the firefox tab or the very top of the browser but more importantly shows in your Google search results.. It will take between a couple of days and a couple of weeks for Google to update it to your new ones.

    30tm35y.png

I’d recommend changing your description slightly too.. Mention ‘furniture’, ‘lounge’, ‘chairs’ etc as that is what people would search for.

“Simply, we specialise in replica furniture. Whether for the study, lounge, office or home we supply the best designer replica chairs, lounges, tables, desks etc” – Bang on 160 chracters

Then again, the 12 month warranty could be what grabs their attention. Then again, it won’t matter if the listing doesn’t come up..
