    Hi all,

    Wanted to get an idea if anyone has any suggestions or tips on outbound calling and the best software/systems to use?

    It will predominantly be made for use of around 50-100 outbound calls to mobiles and land lines. Cost efficiency is key here, and call recording would be a bonus.

    At this stage, I’m assuming I’ll be told to use VOIP – however does anyone have any suggestions that I may not be aware of. Skype or a similar software (internet based calling) would be awesome – but obviously Skype’s premium/business plan doesn’t permit outbound calling and places a cap on the amount of calls you can make per day.

    Hope that all makes sense! Any suggestions or tips would be appreciated.

    Hi there,

    Welcome to Flying Solo!

    What’s your budget? You can get a $55 mobile plan with Telstra (no contract) that includes $550 in calls. Should do the trick. Prob even cheaper deals with other networks.

    My advice – complicating this with extra technology, and spending the time to save another $20 or so will delay you making the calls, and this will cost you money rather than save you.

    Tomorrow morning set up your phone credit. Start calling in the afternoon.

    Just for a single seat?
    Then yes, get a mobile phone on an unlimited cap.

    If you want multiple seats, look at a SIP trunk, headset on each computer (I like the microsoft LX3000) and a softphone package.

    if you want things like queued-outbound-calls and true “call-centre” style operation, then start looking at PBX, maybe something like callinize
    But at that level, you’re better speaking to places that specialise in things like that

    Hello,

    If you are considering an unlimited plan please ensure you read the T&C’s.
    They can exclude them from being used as a outbound call center solution and I know people who have been picked up on this one.

    Please note SIP Trunks (a VoIP thing) typically cost per channel.
    You need a channel for every concurrent call you will be making.
    I can set you up with one that has no cost per channel, that will help you save some money. Then for the lowest cost then I can help set you up with as many phones as you like and you only have to pay for the calls you make. The cost here varies on your volume.

    Is that 50-100 calls per day/week or month? How long do you expect the calls to be?

    If you need a more advanced systems typically used by call centers then I can help there too.
