    Hi to West Aussie soloists,

I am organising a meetup for coffee and a chat in two weeks. My aim is to have a regular weekly meetup for socialising, bouncing ideas and a bit of networking. No rules, no fees, no required attendance, just making friends who know what it’s like to be flying solo.

I’d like you to reply here or send me a message if you want to attend a meetup in the Perth metro, even if you can’t make it in two weeks. :-)

    Please let me know:
    A. Your favourite suburb / coffee joint
    B. The time of day you are most likely available
    C. The days of the week you are most likely available

I am also going to open this outside FS on the Meetups site, but will keep the focus on solo biz owners (and give FS a plug while I’m at it ;-))

For now, I would like to propose Leederville at Cranked Coffee (who also have a nice selection of food on the menu) for 11am, Wednsday 23rd Jan. Anyone so inclined can kick on for lunch afterwards. Open to suggestions to vary the time a bit.

    Hi Marra,

Love your initiative with starting a meet-up! We’ll give it a shout out in tomorrow’s enewsletter, which will hopefully attract a few more Perth soloists.

Be sure to post on here if dates or details change :)

    Cheers,

    Jodie

Thanks, Jodie. I’ll keep the Wed 23rd date as “solid”, so feel free to put that in. I’ll post here if the time or venue change. :-)

I’d love to come but have plans that morning. How long will it go for?
Hope to come to a future event – please add me to the interest list.

Count me in, and Leederville is perfect.

Mooba in Subiaco is also good. Late morning is good, or late afternoon, with Wed – Fri being best for me.

    Cheers

Not sure if I can make it this time but I like the idea.

There are some nice cafes along Angove St in North Perth for any future meets (any will do, its a matter of finding one with a free table).

    Cheers

I’d be interested in attending these events.

    A. Your favourite suburb / coffee joint — Angelo Street in South Perth or Victoria Park (also plenty of free parking).

    B. The time of day you are most likely available – late morning to afternoon

    C. The days of the week you are most likely available – Monday, Wednesday, Friday.

Hi Jo, I’m thinking we’ll probably wind up at about 12.30, unless some want to stay on for lunch. If you’ll be nearby, you could give me a ring to see what we’re up to.

Thanks for spreading the word! Get your FB and LI buddiesn to give me a hoy (I have accounts on both, they can loook me up) and let me know if they are coming. This is in case we get too many for the coffee shop (I’m being optimistic!)

It’d be easy enough to walk to a bigger spot in Leederville, but we might loose some people if they got there later. 😮

Great! And since I’ve been working with raptors for more than 15 years, quite a few! :-)

Thanks to everyone who has posted so far. I’m tallying up locations, times, interest and RSVP’s for 23rd. I’ll give everyone an update middle of next week. Have a great weekend. :-)

Sounds good. I am very interested in meeting up on Wednesday 23 January.
Any coffee shop/cafe where it is not too noisy is always a good one
Day that suits me would be Wednesdays and late morning or lunch time is a good time for me.

    Martin
