    Good morning all

I would like to have my logo and website displayed on the rear windscreen of my car (Subaru Forester) – I don’t want a full car wrap or a full rear windscreen cover (you know the ones that you can see through from the inside). There are so many companies out there, but from a quick search it seems that their products are a bit of overkill for what I want, so I’m hoping someone here has a recommendation for a company that provides a good product at a reasonable price.

    Thanks

You’re probably best to drop in to a local signwriting company. They’ll have the equipment and may be able to do it on the spot.

If you just want a few words cut our of adhesive vinyl, they should be able to cut and install it for you for around $100 or less.

    Hi Jess,

Are you based in Sydney (I couldn’t tell from your website) and if so what area? We recently went through the same process so am happy to share that infomration with you if you’re Sydney based (we are in Sutherland Shire).

Thanks for your recommendations, please keep them coming!

Lara, I am based in Brisbane (but funnily enough I lived in the Shire during my childhood!) – thanks for pointing that out about my webiste, I need to make it clearer where I am. Also, I tried following the link in your signature, and it came up with an error.

I know you said you don’t want to go this way, but I have a one way vision sign on my back window and it cost me about $200 from a guy in Brendale that I stumbled on when I was getting some work done ion my car. Visibility though the back window is still perfect! I was surprised how reasonable it was. I toyed with some photo images but decided against as the signwriter reckoned a white background would be best for visibility.

There is a picture of it in the slideshow on the front page of my web site.

    Hi Rod

I would try vehicle graphics. Link is to the Sign Age vehicle graphics portfolio, so take a look.

SignAge is one of our clients – I cannot tell a lie ;)– but they are based near Brisbane and are very experienced. They specialise in custom materials and special orders, and if you can specify it, I am sure they can make it for you.

    Regards

    Tony

Question for Vehicle Mods – re your white back sign – how does that go with demisters and windscreen wipers? What side do they fix it to?

It goes on the outside and you can see through it from inside the car. Sorry, I don’t have demisters or wipers as it’s on a canopy. Demisters wouldn’t be an issue and I don’t think wipers would worry it either. They can print photos
and full colour on the white but we didn’t.

Once a Shire girl, always a Shire girl Jess! Our company car was done by Signarama @ Miranda. There seems to be Signarama in Brisbane to so they would be worth giving a yell.

Definitely your local signwriter. I have a magnetic strip with my web address/logo which I can take off if I want, or you can get adhesive.

    Hello again

I just though I’d post an update on where I’m at with this. I got about 5 quotes for both cut-out lettering and a full screen cover – they started at $130 and went to just under $400, with the cut-out letters on the cheap end and the full cover on the expensive end.

Long story short, I recently won a vinyl wall sticker for my son’s room, and discovered a great little company called Basement Designs. I asked Dee if she could source some suitable material to do the cut-out version of my logo for exterior use on the car window, and she has gone to great lengths to research the appropriate vinyl through her suppliers and help me find an affordable solution. I will be applying the sign myself, and yes I acknowledge it’s a bit of a gamble given this is a new area of business for Dee, but I have been very happy with the customer service and the committment to making this work. And best yet, I get two copies of my design for $60 plus postage!

Hopefully I’ll have another post in a couple of weeks with the results!

If you’re interested in a similar concept, you can find Basement Designs at the following link on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/basementdesigns
