I attended a NSW Government ICT Strategy for Small Medium Enterprises event on Tuesday evening at parliament house. It was very interesting. In the past it has been difficult to be accepted as a supplier by the NSW Government. However they have recently simplified it by creating a low risk category for projects up to $150,000.00.

You can now go through a registration process online. It is not a 5 minute exercise and will need you to have some information prepared but it is worth the effort. No SME is excluded if they take the time to apply. The insurance requirement has been dramatically reduced. Following a two web links that will get you started.

    Procure Point – http://www.procurepoint.nsw.gov.au/

    eTendering – https://tenders.nsw.gov.au/

It will take you around a day in elapsed time to complete the registration processes. You need financial information, insurance certificates, some project references and a thinking cap.

If you are in ICT the NSW Government budget went up and the focus is on SaaS and Cloud based services.

    Go for it.

    John
