    Hi,
I’ve started a new business providing professional lighting design to residential homes within a fixed fee package. Whilst many people have never heard of lighting designers, the industry has been around for over 20 years in Melbourne alone and most firms charge fees starting at $5000 – $30,000+ for a home project. Through my experience I’ve noticed that many people just need a little bit of professional advice to make all the difference to their home lighting, hence I’ve put together the Mint Lighting packages to meet that need.

I’d appreciate a review of my website – does it covey clearly what is on offer, and does it make sense to you? Would you use this service if you were building your home?

I’d appreciate any comments on the site and the business concept.

    Thanks for reading.

Hi Adele – I think your concept is fabulous. What a great idea.

On your contact page, you should put the areas you go to. There’s no way anyone would know otherwise. I realise you have a footer, but that’s not what most people will look for.

If you go interstate, then say so, and say extra fees apply (for your travel expenses etc.).

You should also get a post office address.
Having an address helps confidence and also location.

Congratulations on your new business. All the best,
    Karen C.

    Hi Adele,

Your webiste looks great and I really like what you do. I recently spent over 2 weeks tyring to find a lighting solution – if only I knew your industry existed.
The first pic on the site makes me want to call.

Thanks Steve – it’s such a common problem, not being able to find lighting professionals, appreciate your comments on the site too.

    Adele.

Thanks so much Karen – I’ll add in the studio address and boundaries – it helps that I can do a lot of the projects over the phone & email, but you make a good point – no one else can know that without me telling them.

    Cheers, Adele.

Adele, it would be good to make that clear as well so that people know you can either attend or be a virtual Adele!

    Cheers.

Love the idea, photos are great, very clear what you do – but I’d like to see a softer “minty” green colour on the logo, etc. I’d add a banner of your best photo with a catchy “benefit”, eg. “bring your home to life with light”, inserted just above “Professional, Independant Lighting Design”.
